Abstract:
The dynamic tensile stress strain curves for annealed aluminum, copper and pure iron at constant strain rates have been obtained by an improved experimental method, whose essential features consist, first of all, of a reasonable estimation of the stress transmitted into the test bar by comparing the strain time records at two points on an elastic input bar joined to the former, and secondly, of the appropriate application of the friction welding technique to joining bars.
