This invention relates to the treatment of metal surfaces and more particularly to a method of increasing the fatigue life of metal parts. We have now found that a plurality of shot-peening treatments can be used to materially increase the fatigue life of a metal part to a much greater degree than that ever accomplished by means of a conventional, single shot-peening treatment.
