Abstract:
Dry lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide is applied to a solid surface by interposing the lubricant between the surface and a force generating means such as a peeining particle, preferably by applying the lubricant initially to the particle, and then fusing the lubricant to the surface by bringing the force to bear upon the surface, and peened surfaces having dry lubricant impacted or fused thereon.
