Abstract:  
Apparatus for gaseous filtration to effect removal of suspended solids in which use is made of clongate filter elements having an open end and means for flowing gaseous medium containing the suspended solids through the walls of the filter element whereby separated solids collect on the outer wall fo the filter element as a filter cake and in which use is made of a gas nozzle in endwise alignmentand colinear alignment with one or more auxiliary nozzles followed by a venturi for releasing or generating a burst of gas of high pressure and increasing volume in the interior of the filter tube being cleaned, to effect removal of solids collected on the walls of the tube, with out stopping total filter flow.
