Apparatus for transmission of sonic energy to the processing of work wherein the sonic energy is transmitted thrugh a vibratory member to a fixture having spaced abutment surface in which the clearance between one abutment surface and the adjacent surface of the work piece, while the work piece is at rest on the other abutment surface, is equal to
