There has been no major advance in the peening and blasting process since the development of the vacuum cleaner with a blast nozzle up its middle, and the centrifugal discharge wheel, and that has taken about 50 years. However, there have been some significant new products, such as electronic control of the feed rate. We think the new "AccuFeed" system is such a major advance-only time will tell. The "AccuFeed" system has been designed to provide consistent feed rates of better than +/- 5% over the full range of the feed valve operation, or within +/- 1% of the set feed rate, with ANY material currently available for the process of impact service treatment using dry particulate solids.
