Abstract:
Clemco Industries Corp., Washington, MO 63090 Dry blasting is among the best and most expedient methods of preparing a surface. And a well-designed blast cabinet provides the mechanical environment for getting a job done. Equally critical to a successful outcome is selecting the right abrasive to produce the desired finish, on time, and within budget. But not all media are created equal. This article will focus on the effects of using extremely harsh, aggressive abrasives, such as aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, chilled iron grit, and garnet.
