Abstract:
Apple’s first flagship store in New York’s SOHO district brings to mind an Apple notebook: a spare, elegant metal housing for its ground-breaking technology. It was one of several Apple storefronts covered in the GB-60™ stainless steel surface. “GB” stands for glass bead and “60” is the bead size used to finish the metal panels. The process was developed by Zahner, a manufacturer of high quality metal and glass products used in art and architecture. If glass bead adds polish to the world’s most expensive apples, what else should we know about it?
